Weve all been there. Its 11 pm, and youve run out of milk or still need some dinner. But whats open at that hour?
With Whats Open Nearby?, you can easily find out without having to look on a stores website or call them up. The app automatically detects your location and shows a list of stores within a close radius.
Current store categories include grocery stores, convenience stores, and bakeries/coffee shops. Store hours are synched weekly directly from official sources.
National chains currently supported include:
- Target
- Costco
- Trader Joes
- Giant
- Safeway
- Sbux Coffee
- Stop & Shop
- Cosi
- CVS
- Pret a Manger
- Harris Teeter
- Shoppers
- Whole Foods
Local, non-chain stores are currently focused in the Washington, DC-area, with more regions to come in the future.
You can also submit stores in your neighborhood for inclusion -- just click on "Suggest a Store" in the app. All store hours are reviewed and confirmed before being added to the app.

This app is very simple and quick. Gets the job done well.
I’m not sure how they do it, but it’s ACTUALLY accurate. Google and Yelp said something was open, OpenNearby said it was closed. I drove over there and… it was closed.
Handy app-for the limited list of stores.
Does what it does decently; its useful. Could use more stores though, didnt see a number of things that are really there. Otherwise, well written.
Only shows Starbucks, CVS and Target near me
